Pentair Everpure: Decades of Quality Drinking Water
Water is essential. Clean, quality water to be exact. Our global history proves this with civilizations settling around clean streams century over century and piping systems in place dating as far back as ancient Egypt, Greece, and Maya.
The first water filters can be traced to antiquity as well. These simple technologies consisted of cloth or limestone materials or involved heating water under the sun.
Today, the plumbing and filtration systems come with a few more bells and whistles. Here are Everpure’s chapters within the modern 20th and 21st centuries.
1930s: Everpure for Everyday Use
C. B. Oliver started Everpure in 1933 in Chicago, IL. While treating water is not a new concept, Oliver developed a filter with precoat technology to bring superior water to homes across America.
1960s: Franchising Filtration
Moving on up—Everpure rolled out a filtration systems for restaurants. The Everpure T-9 was a popular choice thanks to the system's proven reliability.
1970s: Three Innovations in One
Everpure developed a new precoat, Micro-Pure®, along with a quick-change head and innovative cartridge design. This engineered trifecta revolutionized the water treatment industry as we know it today.
1980s: Orders Up
Move over T-9. A new filter began dominating food service. It was the Everpure High Flow CSR Quad System, which was a uni-mount, multi-head system that delivered quality water with more convenience and higher flow rates.
2000s: A New Gen with Pentair
By 2003, Everpure reached global sales, exceeding $60 million. The very next year, Pentair, also known for its water technology and worldwide presence, acquired Everpure, building on the company’s current portfolio and future.
2010s: Innovation through Digital Specification
With projects calling for more customization and faster turns, Pentair designed a digital sizing tool for engineers and specifiers. The Everpure Sizing tool provided options ranging from the application to the size and flow rate. A few clicks and the systems were specified.
2020s: TWM for the W
Total Water Management was first launched in 2017. By 2020, the end-to-end program, entered the foodservice market. Then and now, TWM covers every step from selecting the right solution to installation through ongoing maintenance—taking the entire process from start to filtration.
In 2023, Pentair Everpure marked its 90-year milestone. While the markets, technologies, tools, and services have evolved through each era, one thing remains the same: Everpure delivers quality drinking water to end users. Today. And tomorrow.
