Q: Can I use the FreshPoint Easy Flow to filter my hot water?
A: The system is designed to filter cold water only and should not be used to filter hot water.
Q: Does the system reduce water flow?
A: FreshPoint Easy Flow is designed to support up to 2.2 gpm. Depending on your faucet’s output, a slight reduction in the cold water flow may occur.
INSTALLATION
Q: The hoses that come with the system aren’t fitting to my existing water lines, what do I do?
A: Please contact Pentair Technical Support team at 800.279.9404 for assistance in specifying an adaptor for your application.
Q: How do I ensure the hose fitting connection is tight?
A: Typically five turns with the wrench are sufficient to ensure a tight connection.
Q: How long should I run water through the system after installation or filter changeout?
A: You should run water at full flow for 15 minutes to flush the filter.
Q: Why is my water cloudy after installation?
A: When a filter is installed or changed, it is normal for the water to appear cloudy. This cloudiness occurs because the new filter is filled with air and water has not yet been introduced. While the water is fine to drink, its cloudy appearance may be undesirable. To get those air bubbles to dissipate and ready the filter for use, we recommend flushing the FreshPoint Easy Flow System for 15 minutes following initial installation or after filter replacements.
Q: Why am I seeing small black particles in my water after installation?
A: Carbon “fines” appear in water as a suspended solid and are generally noticeable when a new carbon filter is installed. These fines are not harmful but may be unpleasant to see in your drinking water. To wash away those fines and ready the filter for use, the FreshPoint Easy Flow System should be flushed for 15 minutes following initial installation or after filter replacements.
MAINTENANCE
Q: How do I know when to replace my filter?
A: The Pentair Easy Flow System is equipped with an indicator to check the remaining life of your filter. Push the small Filter Life Indicator Button on the front of the unit. The light ring will flash blue. Each blue light flash indicates three (3) months of remaining filter life. For example, if the light flashes two (2) times, this means that the filter has six (6) months (2 x 3 months) of remaining life. If the light indicator flashes red, this means the filter needs to be replaced.
Q: How do I order a replacement filter?
A: Scan the QR code located on the top of the system/filter or go directly to pentair.com/easyflow. The Easy Flow Replacement Filter reorder number is 4005657. See pages 4 and 5 of the user’s guide for additional instructions for replacing the filter.
Q: How will I know when the batteries are running low?
A: The light ring will flash red and blue, alternately. Though expected to last more than one (1) year, it is highly recommended to replace the batteries annually to avoid any corrosion that may occur over time.
Q: How often should I replace system batteries?
A: The batteries should be replaced annually with two (2) new AA alkaline batteries.
Q: Can I use lithium ion batteries?
A: Standard AA alkaline batteries are recommended.
SUPPORT
Q: I lost my Easy Flow User’s Guide. How can I get a copy?
