OVERVIEW
Benefits of a Whole House Filtration System
Chlorine is commonly used in municipal drinking water treatment disinfection to kill microbes like bacteria, viruses, protozoa, and endospores. To continue disinfecting throughout the drinking water system a secondary dose of chlorine is added to the water before it is sent out to the public to reduce risks of microbial growth in the pipes, as regulated by the Environmental Protection Agency. Chlorine can leave behind its recognizable foul taste and odor in your drinking water. Or you might also experience dry, itchy skin when you get out of the shower. Whether you’re concerned about cysts like Cryptosporidium or tired of the drying effects of chlorine, the FloPlus Filtration System is up to the challenge.

What maintenance is required?
-
That depends on which size you have. You will need to replace a 10” size about every 6 months or after 25,000 gallons of water used. You will need to replace the 20” size about every 12 months or 50,000 gallons of water used. While exchanging your cartridge, inspect the o-ring and lubricate and replace it if necessary.

My water pressure dropped. What should I do?
-
A significant pressure drop can be a sign that it’s time to replace the filter cartridge. If you notice a sustained dip in pressure after swapping out the cartridge, talk to a Pentair water expert.
