FAQs

What about XP?
This uses .Net 4.0 so that is should be compatible with Windows XP.

What is the driver that is named "CDC RS-232 Evaluation Demo"?
If you are watching carefully, you may notice that the wand initially installs with a USB driver called "CDC RS-232 Evaluation Demo". That is the default Windows driver for the IntelliWand low-level hardware. The IntelliWand program looks for a different driver named IntelliWand USB RS-232 Port (Com...) in order to properly identify the hardware. If your computer gets stuck with Device Manager showing only the CDC driver, click update driver and select the iwand2.inf file that you downloaded.
Yes, Microsoft .Net Framework 4.0 must be loaded.
You should let this download, completely install, and reboot if necessary BEFORE running the program.

What's the USB Diagnostics checkbox?
Check that box if you're having problems with the program locating the installed IntelliWand USB device. You'll find a trace log file in your MyDocuments folder that will be helpful to see where the problem is.
