Celebrating World Water Day, Life’s Most Essential Resource
Water touches every aspect of our lives, from everyday acts like drinking a glass of water or going for a swim, to vital needs for our communities and businesses like fire and flood control. Put simply, it’s an essential resource we can’t live without.
That’s why today, and every day, we celebrate World Water Day which was first designated by the United Nations in 1994 as an annual observance of the importance of freshwater.
At Pentair, we aim to help address the world’s water challenges to build a more resilient future for our business and the world through our mission of helping the world sustainably move, improve and enjoy water, life’s most essential resource. We do this by embedding sustainability throughout our product design process to innovate solutions that address water use and quality concerns, improve energy and material efficiency and enable sustainable well-being.
This includes customer-focused solutions that move water where and when it’s needed most — efficiently and reliably. We also help businesses and homeowners improve water, with innovations that deliver higher quality water and ice while minimizing water waste and reducing the need for single-use plastic bottles. And we enable sustainable wellbeing through pool products that use fewer chemicals and consume less energy. Helping people to truly enjoy water.
Following are a few examples of how we are Making Better Essential through our products and solutions, for people and our planet:
- Move Water: Pentair Flow – With a unique bladeless design, the Pentair Xcentric Impeller is a ground-breaking advancement in wastewater pumps. By eliminating the traditional leading edges on the impeller blade, the Xcentric Impeller helps to address a major challenge facing municipalities around the world – persistent clogging of wastewater pumps from fibrous solids such as disposable baby and cleaning wipes, which results in the pump needing to be shut down and cleaned manually.
- Improve Water: Pentair Water Solutions – The new Everpure PFAS filtration systems help reduce PFAS contaminants in water for both commercial and residential applications. PFAS are human-made chemicals found in various products and known for their environmentalI persistence and that are posing a growing concern.
- Enjoy Water: Pentair Pool – Building on our legacy of delivering more sustainable pool solutions with our award-winning energy efficient pumps and lights, Pentair Pool updated the IntelliChlor Plus and LT Salt Chlorine Generators to feature a new modular design with sustainability and customer benefits. Electronics and sensor modules can now be replaced instead of the full unit, resulting in easier and faster repair and maintenance, and a redesigned conductivity sensor provides more accurate readings.
