At Pentair, we believe that making life better for people and our planet is essential. On leading in sustainability by creating value for our customers

“We’re really focused on sustainability leadership around moving, improving, and enjoying water and providing customer value. At the heart of what we do is try to bring sustainable solutions to our customers. We try to help our customers conserve energy, reduce water usage, and also meet trends and the moments of today such as water scarcity. We aim to combine the focus on helping people and the planet with delivering value for our customers through our energy efficient and sustainable solutions.”

On collaboration to drive impact

“Sustainability is a team sport, for sure. We could not do what we do or be a leader in sustainability without our business teams. At the heart of working to deliver sustainable solutions for our customers, the engineering and innovation teams are critical. They’re designing the sustainable products that we’re going to delight our customers with. Then our operations teams are focused internally as well as externally on reducing our greenhouse gas footprint and reducing our water usage. We could not do that without our core operations teams.”

On key learnings throughout Pentair’s sustainability journey

“Partnership is key … my team is small but mighty. We oversee and manage programs at the center, but really the magic happens within our businesses and within our operations teams. We work to drive deep and productive partnerships with our engineering and innovation teams. We need them to be as excited about sustainable innovation as we are – and trust me, they are! It is also important to partner with and get ownership by our category and business leaders, and for them to bring back to us what customers want and need.  We are really excited by the engagement within our broader teams, and how embedded sustainability is throughout our business.”

On innovative partnerships to achieve sustainable outcomes

Davies and Robertson also discussed Pentair’s recent attendance at the GreenBiz sustainability conference, hosted by Trellis, where Pentair showcased four HOPE Hydration Stations. Each station is equipped with  Everpure from Pentair Water Solutions filtration technology to provide free, great-tasting filtered water to thirsty attendees. HOPE Hydration’s mission is to make water universally accessible, decrease plastic waste and help brands build personal relationships, one refill at a time.

“As we think of innovation, we look for different ways to innovate and bring solutions forward. Our collaboration with HOPE is a great example of innovating to really commit to helping people reduce single-use plastic bottles,” stated Robertson.

*Plastic avoided metric is based on industry standard of 9.25 grams per 16.9oz bottle
*CO2 diverted metric based on carbon savings of 82.8g CO2 per 16.9oz bottle
